My Story

Thank you for visiting my site!

I am Bridget, an artist and graphic designer based in Ontario, Canada. I sell products with my artwork printed on to them, as well as custom art services. I also provide graphic design services for small businesses. I have always been attracted to art, design and colour coordination. It started with self practice and a hobby to keep me occupied. In high-school I ended up taking a few courses in the special arts program they offered. Of course you may think I went on to study fine arts beyond high-school, right?

Wrong.

Instead I pursued health policy - something I always found interesting and figured the left side of my brain did too! After completing my degree, I realized it was not something I wanted to go to work for everyday as a long career. So I took some time off and maybe that’s when I find my way back to art… not quite. Instead of forging ahead with artistic creativity (that I had no confidence to pursue) I decided to go back to school. Here enters Project Management.

Perhaps it was again the left side of my brain telling me “this is the way to success, this is what you can use to get into health policy, this is what will get you a high income”. As I invested my time and money into this endeavor, I realized that I really was only there for the concept of projects. I wanted to understand how to do one, learn how to work with others, and how to problem solve. I truly was not there to become a project manager - those who are naturally charismatic, strong leaders.

This was not a waste of my time, no, this was just a step in knowledge that I needed to move forward. After completing the certificate, I started working in administration. Now, this is where inspiration really started to creep up. I was interacting with the marketing and graphic design team when I could.

Why was I so fascinated with their jobs over my own? Because my dear, insecure, right brain, you need something visually creative to thrive! I left that job to spend time pursuing graphic design and selling my artwork. I felt like I had to re-learn art all over again!

I then went on to spend 4 years on a marketing team in the foodservice world. I was their core graphic designer, but also a marketing specialist eventually turned content manager. I learned so much from this experience! However, the demand of wearing multiple hats pushed me to burnout and unhappiness in the role. Now, I hope to move on to a role better suited for my skillset. I am a creative who thrives in an organized environment, I’m good at identifying patterns and weaknesses in systems, and I enjoy how design correlates with branding and marketing strategy.
