Double-Page Spreads
Mock-ups of In-Class Magazine Spread Projects
These projects taught me how to do layouts with particular attention to typography and type-setting.
Magazine Spread #1
This spread incorporates the art I created as the pillow cases, framed pineapple, and clock. The spread title is “Choosing Art & Decor Pieces for the Spaces in Your Home”. I edited my own art images on to a stock backdrop image. That editing in particular was challenging to ‘mesh’ images from separate photos into the main mock up image. Overall, it was an enjoyable project in being able to use my own art images to create a magazine mock-up.
Magazine Spread #2
This spread incorporates an article about choosing baby room artwork. My own baby deer artwork is in a background image on the second page. This spread in particular was challenging for type-setting. With so much writing incorporated, it was difficult to manage the hanging words to ensure an even look. I do believe more work can be done to improve even the final file I ended with here, but it was a great learning experience to work with type-setting challenges.
